CURRENT FAVOURITES #1
Today I thought I would do a post on my current favourites/ things I have been loving for the past month or so. Hope you enjoy!
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
I had been wanting to read this book for so long after so many people have raved about it, and finally I had the time to read it.
Narrated by death, the story follows the main protagonist Liesel Meminger prior, during and after the Second World War. You follow her journey not only through her growing up over 6 years, but also her character development as she learns to read and goes about stealing books, where her nickname 'The Book Thief' is established. I would have thought that the narrative would be quite dark as it is from the perspective of death, but as this character speaks in a colloquial style it gives an interesting perspective on his human-like character and the events throughout the story.
Overall I would definitely recommend this book, from an English Literature student viewpoint, it is very well written and full of imagery. But also if you just want to leisurely read a gripping book.
Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil
An expensive face oil, but I think it is well worth the money. It is specifically made for oily/combination skin, designed to almost trick the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil, so your skin is not producing as much oil as it normally would. I have definitely seen notable differences as my t-zone is a lot less oily. This facial oil is also great to put on spots. I like to do this in the evening before I go to bed and in the morning my spots have significantly reduced in size and look a lot less angry and red.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 hr eyeshadow in 'on and on bronze'
I have been wearing this eyeshadow a lot recently as it is so quick and easy to use. It also lasts all day without fading or creasing.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'vanilla'
I had been looking for a full coverage concealer that would conceal my spots and decided to give this a go as it has great reviews. I completely agree with the hype as it covers imperfections so well and it is also great to use under the eyes. What I love about it is that despite it being full coverage, it doesn't feel heavy and looks natural on the skin.
Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 'demure'
A pretty pink nude lipstick that is nice and moisturising and comfortable to wear. It also has a lovely glossy finish to it.
Thanks for reading!
